The Baltic forest, located in the Northern regions of Europe, is very suitable for supplying slowly grown and therefore high-quality wood. The cycle from seed to mature tree is between 80 and 100 years. The forest has always been known to the managers as a valuable property. As a result, the forest has grown bigger and bigger year after year, to almost 50% of the total land. Most of the forest exploitation in Latvia is certified. Enough new tree mass grows every minute to provide wood for an entire house!

For our traditionally manufactured houses we use conifers from local forest management. To ensure that the moisture content in the trees is lowest during felling, we use winter-cut wood or wood harvested during special periods of the lunar cycle. After harvesting, the wood dries naturally, slowly without any force or extra use of energy.

The bark is always removed by hand and, at the customer's option, it can be additionally planed for a white appearance. Only debarked logs retain their original shape most closely.  For both, over time the trunks turn gray, subject to rain and ultraviolet rays from the sun.

The authentic gray color of coniferous wood is appreciated by many people. We import KELO strains from Finland and the north of the Karelian area especially for those people. This type of tree dies standing in the forest and acquire their special silver-gray appearance and texture in time before being removed from the forest. As a result, they are naturally preserved, so they do not require further treatment with stain or oil. Kelo logs are often used in the more luxurious chalets.
